Childbirth class tweets

My precious husband was a gem in our breastfeeding and childbirth classes.

I knew in general what to expect out of both but I guess I didn't know what a powerful role he would get to play in all of it. He was amazing. I fell so much deeper in love with him and I can't wait to share this experience with him..which has made the final few weeks start to feel super duper s.l.o.w.

To make things even better he decided to tweet his funny thoughts regarding comments made in the class so I've decided to share them here. Warning: they can be a little scandalous if you forget what topics we would have been discussing in the classroom..

His hashtags throughout the class: #LiveTweetingChildbirthClass

Weekend #1:
-It was an odd choice to show the birthing video right before lunch.

-Do you think you know how to install a car seat? Sorry, you're wrong. No one knows how. - Our instructor

-I'm disappointed. The snacks are normal sized foods. No baby carrots, baby corn, etc. Opportunity missed.

-It is very difficult to not laugh during guided relaxation. "Your right leg is heavy. Your right le.."

-In the instruction videos, 4/6 dads had earrings. 2/6 moms had lower back tattoos. Dangerous combination.

-Class 1 over. Several more to come. Stay tuned for more #LiveTweetingChildbirthClass. Will say this - I'm even more excited to be a dad now.

Weekend #2:
-It seems unreasonable for 7+ months pregnant women to have to sit in a chair for 5 hours, but here we go! Rd 2 #LiveTweetingChildbirthClass

-We've been warned that at the end of today we'll question our decision to be parents. So, that's encouraging. (Side note: part 2 of the childbirth class was all about the pain options, episiotomies, and C-sections.)

-Moms and expectant moms are very brave people. Tell the ones you know "thank you." And..I'm very glad I'm a guy.

-Allegedly lots of dads ask for an extra stitch in their wives. The guys really come off as heroes in this class.

-There are very limited circumstances where "You've got birthing hips, honey!" would be seen as a compliment.

-Class over. They didn't scare us off. Can't wait until we get to hold our little one. (Side note: Why should he be scared? None of that is happening to him! ..I kid. I wasn't scared at all, instead I felt very blessed to be given this opportunity to have a little one and very excited for the next 8 or so weeks!)

I hope you all enjoyed his wise cracks and comments. I'm sure I'll be back with more after our child care and infant safety and CPR class!
