When we had Brynlee's 6 month check-up her pediatrician suggested we start giving her some practice using a sippy cup. She went on to say that to start out we could put some water or juice inside (and since neither have any nutritional benefit, she suggested water). As a nursing mom who knows how precious breast milk is, I'm very grateful we aren't letting her toss the "gold" around.
Brynlee had her first sippy cup experience on Tuesday, May 22nd (26 weeks and 5 days) and she found it to be quite interesting. We've given her her cup each day since for a little bit to let her get a feel for it.

Headbands
I mentioned in Brynlee's 6 month post that we ordered some new headbands for her half birthday. I've ordered headbands for her from several Etsy shops over the past few months and this one has one of the best deals around (especially when you get them on sale like we did) and broadest range of colors I've found.
I ordered one of her "Shabby chic chiffon flower clips and elastic headbands - set of 20" which includes 10 headbands (you choose the size) and 10 matching clips. $20.00 for all 20 pieces, which puts each headband including the clip at $2.00 a piece, is awesome.

Outtakes
Peter and I like to look through our camera rolls on our phones at least once a week to look back on all of the fun we've had with our little family. (We tend to do this before we go to bed because we miss our little munchkin who has typically been asleep for several hours by then.)
I decided to share a few of our favorites...they all happen to be a bit blooper-ish. Enjoy!

Graduation
This past weekend Peter's younger brother Nathan graduated from high school. It was a special weekend not just for him, but for Peter's mom who homeschooled all four Ellwood kids for the past 17 years.
Brynlee had received her 6 month shots the day before and was still a little fussy/tired so I stood in the back with her until the ceremony was over. As tired as my feet and back were, I loved getting to hold my sweet girl. Seeing the slideshow with the pictures of the graduating seniors and listening to the songs of hope and love play inspired me to soak up every second even more than I do (if that's even possible).
Anyway, a few weeks ago at the Mother's Day lunch we hosted for our moms we gave Nathan his graduation gift. After some discussion we opted to put together a basket of college must haves. I'll admit, my list of items we could get was rather long so I'll post a realistic college packing list soon (I mean I was in college not too long ago right? Man, December will be 4 years!).
